Update

Hello to all loyal fans. I apologize as I have fallen behind in my posts due to personal issues, ie exams and all that stuff, but I am back. I will have updated and completed all of the unfinished or missing posts for this season, as well as for tonight's episode which will air on Fox at 9 o'clock. Everyone must watch this episode ASAP, for it looks like it is going to be one of the best episodes of all time. See you all soon!

Season 2 - Episode 18 "White Tulip"

When a train car is completely drained of all energy, form both electrical devices and the humans on the car, Fringe science is called in to investigate. The trail of clues quickly lead them to a professor who has not only perfected a machine that can be used to travel through time, but also implanted this machine inside his own body. Before Fringe is able to apprehend the professor, he jumps back to the train and the whole day starts over. This happens a few times, each time Fringe nearly apprehends the professor a few different ways, and each time he escapes. Finally, Fringe discovers that the professor's wife died a few months earlier, which is where he must be trying to get to. Walter is able to have a heart to heart discussion with the professor about the dangers of saving his wife, hinting about his own experience with Peter. Walter also reveals that, although he has been wanting to reveal the secret to Peter, he is waiting for a specific sign from God, a White Tulip. The professor finally succeeds in his goal of going back to save his wife, but because of Walter`s words, he allows himself to be killed instead. He does however leave a message to be mailed to Walter in the present, a picture of a White Tulip.

And where is the Observer? Well he is quite difficult to see in this episode, and also quite difficult to take a picture of. he is standing in a doorway behind where the professor and his fiancée get hit by the truck. He is in the customary red box so that everyone can see him.

Season 2 - Episode 17 "Olivia. In The Lab. With The Revolver."

Sorry about the delay everyone, my computer recently fried and I am only now able to post this. I apologize to everyone who reads this on a regular basis.

Now on to the episode. Frankly one of the better episodes in my book, especially because of the Inglorious Basterds reference at the very beginning of the episode. If you missed it, it is when Diane Kruger, the first woman to be infected in this episode, is talking on her cell phone. She mentions a doctor named "Gorlami", which is the false name that Brad Pitt used to get into the premiere of the movie.

But back to the episode. A man from the cortexiphan trials is infecting everyone else that was in the trials with rapid onset cancer, just by touching them. As the list of close by targets narrows down to just Olivia Dunham, the team begins to run out of time. But Olivia is preoccupied with her decision not to tell Peter who he really is. Her thought process is interuppted when she is attacked by the man, and as her life hangs in the balance, she calls Peter to save her. She survives and decides that it is better not to tell Peter than to risk losing him. Meanwhile, Nina Sharp and Agent Broyles decide to hunt down the remaining cortexiphan kids, before someone else gets to them.

And where is the Observer? Well it turns out that he is a big Tarantino fan as well, as he passes right in from of Diane Kruger's car on her way back to her office.He is only there for a second and isn't very easy to spot, so don't worry if you missed him. He is below in the picture with the customary red box around him.

Season 2 - Episode 16 "Peter"

Welcome back everyone. Fringe is back and better than ever! In this episode (appropriately named Peter) Walter finally explains what happened to Peter to a visibly shaken Olivia. In both universes Peter is dying of a genetic disease that as of now, has no cure. The Peter of this universe dies from the disease, but the Walter on the other side discovers a cure that could save his son. Unfortunately, The Observer accidentally distracts him and causes him to miss the moment the tests become positive. Our Walter sees the result and recreates the cure. He can't witness his son dying again, so he goes over to the other side. Nina Sharp tries to stop Walter, but her arm is severed when the door to the other side closes. Walter brings the Peter from the alternate universe back with him through the portal, but the ice underneath the portal breaks and both Walter and Peter fall into the lake. The Observer saves them both to undo the mistake he made and tells Walter that Peter is very important, and that he must not die. Walter cures Peter but is unable to send him back to the alternate universe because he loves him to much. Finally, Walter reveals that because he created that first portal, more portals have been appearing, and that is why the two universes are going to collide.

And where is the Observer? Well he made a fool of himself in this episode and possibly caused one whole universe to die, but without him Peter would have died, and apparently he is very important. You can see the Observer three times in this episode, which are shown below. He is of course in the customary red box in each picture, but you shouldn't need it.

Season 2 - Episode 15 "Jacksonville"

When parts of the other universe start to appear on our side, there are many casualties. Unfortunately the universes need to be equal in mass, and so another building of the same mass will disappear from our universe into theirs, killing anyone inside that building. In an attempt to prevent this from happening, Walter remembers that Olivia had the ability to see things that were either about to leave our universe, or things that are from their universe. To try to re-enable that ability, the team goes to Jacksonville, where Olivia was exposed to Cortexiphan. We get a glimpse into the horrors that the children who were given to Cortexiphan were exposed to. Unfortunately, to re-enable the ability Olivia has to be scared, but she has learned to channel her fear into anger. With time running out, Walter and Peter try to narrow down the search for the building by calculating the approximate mass of each of the buildings in New York. When nothing can be done to save the lives of hundreds of people, Peter tries to comfort Olivia and they almost end up kissing, but Olivia realizes that she is scared. She sees the glimmer and evacuates everyone from the building just in time to save them. With the day saved, Olivia and Peter go out for drinks (date?), and Olivia notices that Peter is not from this universe.

And where is the Observer? Nearly impossible to see in this episode, so no worries if you missed him. Actually it is a miracle if you did, so congratulate yourself. As the team arrives at the building with the deformed people at the very beginning of the episode, he appears on camera for almost a whole second walking in front of the fire truck. It is very dark so it is incredibly hard to see. He is below in the picture, in the red box for your convenience. Also, there are some observations of my own below the picture for this episode. They are mainly questions about what happened, so if you have any input, feel free to comment.



Okay, so first, there is the obvious question of when the people were evacuated, wouldn't that change the mass of the building?

Then there is the question, when Walter took Peter from the alternate universe, did something from here replace him?

And finally, the code that Walter input into the lock to get into Jacksonville is obviously going to come up again when he remembers what it is. I think it might be a date, 5 - 20 - 10, May 20th 2010. Maybe the date when the universes collide?

Season 2 - Episode 14 "The Bishop Revival"

Half of a wedding is killed by a mysterious biological weapon that can target people with specific traits so that they are the only ones in a group who are killed. The only thing the team has to go on is a blurred photo of the assailant until Walter remembers his father's work as a Nazi spy. The books containing the work have been sold by Peter and have been soon afterwards destroyed, which does not explain how the killer is using Walter's father's formula. During a raid of the killer's home, Walter is affected by the toxin, but he survives by quick thinking on Olivia's part. After searching the house the killer's true plans are revealed, to use the toxin at a racial tolerance meeting. As Olivia and Peter search for the toxin, Walter creates his own batch of toxin specifically designed to kill the killer. Everyone but the killer is saved, but Walter has lost some of Olivia's and Broyles's trust.

And where is the Observer? Well this week we can all thank blue sunflower for their contribution, and for saving my ass. Thank you very much. Anyways, the Observer passes right behind the window, behind the woman and her daughter in the coffee shop. He was a little hard to spot this week so don't feel to bad is you missed him. Delays

Hello everyone. I unfortunately missed the last episode of Fringe last thursday so I am unable to comment on where the Observer is until I find somewhere where I can access the episode. If you would like to comment and show all of our loving fans where the observer is, then please feel free. I will post my regular post as soon as I possibly can. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Season 2 - Episode 12 "What Lies Below"

Sorry about this being late, I haven't had much time this week to post. Anyway, this episode depicted a virus that could take control of a human host once they were infected, and would try as hard as it could to infect more people. Fringe is called in to investigate and Peter is infected in the process, which causes Walter to partially reveal to Astrid that Peter has already died once. The CDC orders the complete destruction of the area to stop the spread of the virus, but Walter is able to produce a cure just in time to save everyone in the building from being destroyed. And just as a side note, as I watching this I was reminded of the potential zombie virus. This could very well be the reason behind a zombie's need for human flesh, to infect other humans. The virus takes over, hence the whole "dying" thing, and then they attack humans to spread the disease. Just something to think about.

And where is the Observer? When the lead CDC guy is telling his aid that they are going to need to blow up the building in order to stop the infection from spreading, the Observer walks right behind them. He isn't that hard to spot, but even so I have put the customary red box around him. Have fun.

Season 2 - Episode 11 "Johari Window"

The very first SEASON 2 (see previous post) episode of the new year, begins with a police officer picking up a runaway kid on the side of a road. The kid transforms before our eyes from a good looking kid into a deformed child. Before anything can be done, a group of deformed humans take back the child and kill everyone who had seen him. The team is called into investigate and is led back to one of Walter's old experiments. The town is covered with an electric field to hide the fact that all of its inhabitants all suffer from a genetic disorder which causes them to be deformed. Feeling partially responsible for this development, Walter demands that agent Broyles leave this finding off the record so that the town can live in peace. Broyles accepts and the town is safe, for now.

And where is the Observer? Well it looks like he is still stepping up is game from before the break as he is quite hard to see in this episode. He is watching the crowd when the sheriff is telling them to calm down and that he will "take care of" the FBI agents. He is at the back of the group and is covered mostly by shadows so it is not easy to spot him. He is in the customary red box for your convenience.

Season 1? - Episode ? "Unearthed"

Welcome back from the break everyone, it has definitely been way too long. Now I understand that some of you were confused by the first "special" episode of the new year, mainly because Charlie was around and not trying to kill Olivia. That is because this first episode is actually one that was unaired from the first season. I guess there was something important in this episode that is needed for future ones.

Anyways, the episode begins with a teenage girl dying and then coming back to life only moments later, yelling phrases in Russian. These phrases are only known by a murdered Naval officer, who had recently been exposed to large amounts of radiation on a nuclear sub, and had only survived due to an experimental drug. The energy from his life force is what brought back the girl, but it also transferred his consciousness to her. Now they fight for control of the body as the Naval officer attempts to kill his wife, who was responsible for his murder. Luckily, Olivia and Charlie are able to subdue the girl and Walter finally removes the Naval officer's consciousness from her mind. But we are once again reminded that "There is more than one of everything", because at the end of the episode we see a victim of a car crash come back to life, and he is speaking Russian.

And where is the Observer? Well he wasn't that hard to spot this time, if you were paying attention. He walks right behind Olivia when she is talking to the mother of the girl in front of the church. The picture is below, with a red box around the Observer's face.

Season 2 - Episode 10 "Grey Matters"

When three different schizophrenic patients of a mysterious Dr. Paris, are each cured instantaneously during a break in at each of their own separate medical facilities, the team is called in to investigate. After reviewing the tapes at each scene they discover that one of the men, Thomas Jerome Newton, used to be a cryogenically frozen head that was stolen by the shapeshifters. Now with a name for their enemy, Olivia is hellbent on killing this man. But while searching for Newton, the team discovers that the patients each had a small portion of brain tissue implanted in their skulls. Each of these pieces were removed by Newton during the break-ins, but without a host, they are slowly dying. After coming up with very little leads on what Newton plans, we discover that the brain tissue belongs to Walter, and each piece contains a memory. Newton kidnaps Walter and temporarily reconnects the tissue, trying to discover how to open a door to the other universe. When Olivia and Peter arrive, they are able to save Walter, but they are not able to stop Newton from escaping. The tissue dies, and with it, Walter's memories of what has happened. The episode ends with a flashback to when Walter's brain tissue was removed. It is revealed that William Bell was Dr. Paris and that he had hidden the tissue in the three patients.

And where is the Observer? Well he is very hard to spot in this episode, so don't feel bad if you missed him. He is across the street from the washroom where they think Newton is keeping Walter. He is in the red box as always, so there should be no trouble for you to find him.

Season 2 - Episode 9 "Snakehead"

When a boat loaded with illegal Chinese immigrants sinks, fringe is called in to investigate the real cause of their deaths. A worm that has been known for its potential healing properties by the Chinese has been unknowingly implanted in these people and been allowed to grow. However, once the worms outgrow their hosts, the people are killed and the worms are then harvested for their lymph glands, which can cure any immune disease. With a second shipment of these people coming in, the team has to work fast before they are found by the triad gang who is behind this violation against nature. Meanwhile, Walter attempts to break free from his son but ends up accidentally getting Astrid hurt. Feeling terrible, Walter implants himself with a tracking device and gives Peter the transponder, so that he will not be lost.

And where is the Observer? Well he is very hard to find this time so don't feel to bad if you missed him. He is on screen for about 2 seconds when the man in the Chinese herb shop calls to have Walter and Astrid followed. He walks right past the camera so he is very blurry, but is still recognizable. You can see him below in the middle of the customary red box.

10 000 Views! and the Massive Dynamic Website

Hey everyone. I just thought I should do a post in recognition that this blog has reached 10 000 views! This is a real achievement and I want to thank all of you for your dedication. It really means a lot. Keep on searching!

However it does not look like it is completely done yet, as some of the links do absolutely nothing, like their international links. This is definitely worth checking out.

Season 2 - Episode 8 "August"

We are once again made painfully aware that "There is more than one of everything" by the arrival of a whole host of new Observers, including one named August. This Observer becomes hellbent on saving one girl from being killed by an airplane crash, which leads him to abduct her in an attempt to save her. However, the other Observers know that this can't be allowed because it will produce an alternate future, and so are forced to send an assassin to try and kill her. Meanwhile, Fringe works on deciphering the code left behind by August, which is actually a message to Walter from August asking for his help. With the assassin closing in on the girl and with nowhere left to hide, August allows himself to be shot by the assassin, which makes the girl to important to kill because she has caused the death of one of the Observers. Walter holds up his word to give the girl her stuffed bear that August has been carrying around with him ever since his first encounter with her, and August reveals that the real reason fro saving this girl was because he loved her.

And where is the Observer? Well if you didn't see him then you should really just stop trying because he is in a whole ton of shots, as well as the other Observers. I am placing a picture below of all four Observers in the customary red boxes seen in this episode, with a red arrow above our Observer. Also just as a note, the name of our Observer is September, which leads us to believe that there are only twelve Observers in total, and now only eleven alive.

Season 2 - Episode 7 "Of Human Action"

The son of a Massive Dynamic employee is kidnapped by two car sales men with the ability to control people's minds. Believing this to be a sleeper cell operation to extract secrets from MD, Fringe is called in to negotiate the safe release of the teen. However, in an attempt to capture the sales men, Fringe learns all to late that the kidnappers are really the the hostages, and that the teen is really running the show. The teen captures Peter and attempts to reconnect with his supposedly deceased mother, who is in fact alive and has remarried. In a desperate attempt to stop the kid, Broyles takes him head on only to be shot by an unwilling Peter. But with quick thinking and nerves of steel, the kid is incapacitated and is sent to seek therapy, while the rest of the team takes a well deserved rest. And, as we can clearly see at the end of this episode, there really is more than one of everything.

And where is the Observer in the midst of all this excitement? Well he has certainly stepped up his game, because it took me 6 tries to finally find him. He is hiding behind a car watching the police cars drive up and into the parking lot where they are shortly after forced to kill each other. I swear that this is him, Although you would be right to question it. He is very hard to see here, so of course I have put him in the customary red box.

Season 2 - Episode 6 "Earthling"

One of Philip's old cases comes back to haunt him when a serial killer resurfaces after four years. His victims are all the same, after being exposed to increased radiation, they are turned to dust. However, thanks to Walter's insight into this problem, the case beings to reveal a truth that is literally out of this world. An organism from outer space has bonded itself with a Russian cosmonaut, and is feeding of the radiation of his victims. With no way to separate the organism from the host, and the CIA hot on their trail, the Fringe department must do whatever is necessary to prevent this thing from killing again...

And where is the Observer? Well because of the long break between episodes, he has graciously decided that we need some practice before he starts really trying again, so he is actually quite easy to find. He is cleverly almost out of sight when Broyles is in what looks to be an airport, and is telling Olivia that the CIA is attempting to take the case out from under them. He walks out of a plane and watches Broyles while he is completing the call, then promptly walks off screen. The picture is below with the customary red box around our friend.

Season 2 - Episode 5 "Dream Logic"

When people start going on killing sprees and then die of extreme exhaustion shortly after, Fringe is called into investigate. However, Olivia is still distraught over the loss of her friend, Charlie Francis, and turns to Sam Weiss for help. But as more and more people continue to die, Olivia and the team are getting nowhere. That is, until they discover that the people who have been dying are all implanted with a chip to help control their sleep. This chip can send the dreams of the user wirelessly, which causes the people to believe that they are in a nightmare, which is the reason why they are killing. With some quick detective work, Olivia discovers the man behind this is the doctor who implanted the chips, and that he is now addicted to his patient's dreams. Disgusted with himself, the doctor commits suicide and the rest of the patients are saved. Olivia returns to Charlie's grave, and with some help from Sam Weiss, we discover that she is going to be fine. We can not say the same about Peter, who is now haunted by dreams of Walter coming into his bedroom as a child.

And where is the Observer? Well this week I found him very cleverly hidden in the hospital when all the people with the computer chip in their brains are lining up to go into surgery. There is a shot of Olivia talking to the nurse, and then a cut to the people complaining below, and then a shot of Olivia talking to the nurse. On the second shot of Olivia talking to the nurse, he walks out from behind a pillar. He is in the picture below, with a red box around him. Don't feel to bad if you missed him, it was difficult this week.

Bonus Observer Sightings

As some of you may or may not know, there have been some additional Observer sightings in and out of the show. I have already covered one of these instances, (the Fringe Season 2 Poster) but there are still quite a few that I have missed. They are below in no particular order, mainly because I am tired.

Fringe Title Sequence - During the Fringe title sequence at the beginning of each episode just after the words "Dark Matter" appear, the words "Observers Are Here" appear for only a moment. They are hard to spot because it looks as if someone wrote them on a fogged piece of glass with their finger. They are below in a red box.

Fringe Poster - In the below fringe poster, where we see Olivia inside of the tank, you can see the word "observed" written just above one of her hairs. The picture below shows you where on Olivia the word is.

This picture zooms in on the word because it is hard to see in the above picture.

Entertainment Events - The Observer seems to really like this universe's sports and entertainment. The below are instances where the Observer has shown up at 3 different sporting events and 1 entertainment event. He is in the customary red box for anyone who needs him.

1. He was at the NASCAR Sprint Cup auto race in Texas, on April 5, 2009.

2. He was at a NFL football game between the Giants and the Eagles.

3. He was in an American Idol episode.

4. He was also at a 2009 MLB All Star Game.

Season 2 - Episode 4 "Momentum Deferred"

When the shape shifters from a few episodes earlier return and begin to steal cryogenically frozen heads, Fringe is called in to investigate. By doing so they learn that the shape shifters are not entirely human, but are in fact a combination of machine and organic tissue, and have the need to consume mercury to stay alive. To determine who the shape shifters are, Walter brings in a woman from his past who can see who is and isn't from this universe. However, her powers are degrading and she is no longer able to use them. Also, Olivia remebers everything from her encouter with William Bell, and knows what the shape shifters are looking for and where to find it. The man impersonating Charlie tricks Olivia into revealing this information, and while he and Olivia fight, the other shape shifters regain the head of their leader. In the end the Charlie shape shifter dies, which leaves Olivia distraught over the loss of her friend, and with the shape shifters having claimed their prize, it is only a matter of time....

And where it the Observer? He is kind of difficult to find at first, but it really shouldn't take you more than 2 tries. When Olivia is caled out of the Massive Dynamic building by the shape shifter impersonating Charlie, he is watching from the other side of the road. He is quite close to the camera so he is a little blurry, but you can see that it is him. The picture is below with him in a red box, even though he takes up half the screen.

Season 2 - Episode 3 "Fracture"

All the water in a cop's body solidifies and then explodes when he is sent on a suspicious mission by an unknown source. As Fringe begins to investigate this strange happening, they discover a top secret military experiment which may have connections to their case. This leads them back to one of Peter's shady contacts in Iraq, where they learn that there may very well be more than a few more human bombs walking around. On top of this Olivia continues to cope with her injuries, but is beginning to get frustrated with the man that is supposed to be helping her. And with "The Colonel" sending his next unwitting human bomb to intercept a messenger, the tam is quickly running out of time.

And where is the Observer? Well if you missed him, I must say that you need to start trying a little harder, because you just aren't putting any effort into watching this show. He is one of "them", the people watching us and who "The Colonel" was trying to stop. We see him opening the second briefcase from the man in the black trench coat, which contains pictures of Walter. The picture of him is below with a red box around him, just in case you can't see him still. Idiots.
